Eva & Irmi

As part of the Women Empowerment series, Irmi Horn conveys home-related insights into the past century in a short story.

Irmi Horn, born 1945 in Graz, worked after her studies as a pedagogue, actress and co-director of the forum stadtpark theater. She lives and works as an author, director, actress and artistic director of kunstGarten in Graz. Since her studies, she has been involved in art and culture management and received the Golden Decoration of Honor of the State of Styria in 2017 for her commitment. She is a citizen of Graz.

The musical intensification comes from Eva Bajic (piano).

Eva Bajic was also born and raised in former Yugoslavia as a member of the Hungarian minority. She completed her piano studies at the University of Music Graz with Sebastian Benda, Thomas Duis and Ayami Ikeba with a concert diploma. She received support from the gifted scholarship of the Graz Cultural Unit, the Martha – Debelli scholarship, as well as the Forum Hungaricum.

She completed master classes with Arbo Valdma, Zoltán Kocsis, Tamás Vásáry and Lazar Bermann, among others.

She performs as a soloist and pianist of various chamber music formations, among others. “Ensemble für Neue Musik”, “Artresonanz”, “Ensemble Zeitfluss” at concerts and works on several projects in which contemporary music is developed and performed with children and young people: “Klangnetze”, “Moment Musik”, “Kreative Musikworkshops” with VS.

She looks back on a long-standing collaboration with many composers, numerous premieres, radio recordings, CD productions, among others at the “Musikbiennale Zagreb” and the “Steirische Herbst” (Musikprotokoll).
