ORF KLANGWOLKE im kunstGarten
Public Viewing in the kunstGarten on 14. 7. at 21:00:
This year a very special Styriarte highlight will be broadcast: “Ludwig van Beethoven: EROICA”.
Not a symphony concert to sit still for: The Styriarte Youth Orchestra and conductor Mei-Ann Chen will light a fire on 14 July with Beethoven’s heroic 3rd Symphony; choreographed by Adrian Schvarzstein and Jūratė Širvytė. The magnificent concert will be broadcast that evening as “ORF Steiermark Klangwolke” on ORF III, Radio Steiermark and at many locations in Styria (the broadcast dates on ORF III and Radio Steiermark are scheduled for 9 p.m., as in previous years; as are preliminary programmes). And the whole country will be present at this cultural event with the “Klangwolke”.
Taiwanese-born Mei-Ann Chen has lived in the United States since 1989 and holds a doctorate in music (conducting) and a master’s degree in violin performance. One of America’s most promising young conductors, she was the first woman to win the Malko International Conductors Competition and has been appointed chief conductor of Recreation in Graz from the 2021/22 season.
