Musical lesson – Open Air: InterStar Frequency Band

Pressefoto Interstar Frequency Band (c) Anaïs Horn, 2022

InterStar Frequency Band stands not only for “band”, as a group of musicians, but very fundamentally for the topological description of frequency spectra from which music emerges.

This is much more about wavelengths and frequencies than about the static shape of people and their roles within the band: this is what makes the fluidity and flexibility of musical forms and formats within the Internstar Frequency Band possible.

This time, core members Eilert Asmervik (keyboards, computer) and Lauritz Kaasa (drums) will create actual frequencies, sound bodies and rhythms.

Processed field recordings and electronically generated sound design worlds will be improvisationally processed live by the musicians, combine with the sounds of the garden, and – accompanied by a video projection specially produced by Asmervik – take the kunstGarten audience on an audio-visual open-air journey.

Eilert Asmervik (b. 1997, Trondheim) lives and works in Paris.
As a visual artist and musician, he works with painting and sound.

Lauritz Kaasa (b. 1997, Trondheim) lives and works in Paris.
As a musician, he plays drums and other instruments internationally in various constellations.
