Umschlag des Buchs/book cover
The author and artist Monika Schönbacher-Frischenschlager reads from her book DER HORIZONT IST NICHT DAS ENDE DER WELT (Keiper 2019), which promotes communication and understanding for the world around us, and invites people to help shape and add to it. E.g.: on small musical instruments brought along … or with coloured pencils on printouts.
More about the book:
A family of elephants lives in the African jungle, which borders on a grassy landscape. The mother elephant, the elephant elephants and the elephant father take care of the elephant child Akim. They all feel comfortable in their home. Akim is inquisitive, as children are. He is a bit bored and wants to know if there is something to discover somewhere that is still strange to him. Stranger things can be exciting if you let yourself get involved without fear and prejudice. Akim makes friends with two human children who have a smartphone that Akim is allowed to try out. A connection is made with an elephant family living on the other side of the world. This is the beginning of an initially difficult friendship – because there is something wrong with the ears of the “foreign” elephants … The book makes you think that everyone is special and that you should accept others as they are.
