Julian Polak(c)Manuel Pitsch
“Casual groove, outrageously fluid-flamaculate with razor-sharp clarity.”
This is how Michael Lohr from the “Akustik Gitarre Magazin” describes Julian Polak’s guitar playing.
Julian Polak’s musical journey led him with a wide variety of ensembles across Europe, Russia and China. On these tours he gathered experiences and impressions that are reflected in his plays. His music tells stories – sometimes powerful and driving, sometimes gentle and dreamy, but always with a depth that captivates his audience.
With his new album Schlaflos, Julian Polak presents the whole range of his skills as a fingerstyle guitarist. The Viennese native combines virtuoso play with soulful soundscapes and thus creates a music that simultaneously technically impresses and emotionally touches. Inspired by artists such as Peter Ratzenbeck and Bert Jansch, his compositions fuse influences from blues, ragtime and modern fingerstyle elements into a unique sound language.
