Abendliche Juni-Rosen/ Evening Roses in June
A homage to the rose by Elisabeth Schimana. With Elisabeth Schimana (composer, performance) & Irmi Horn. ONLY IN GOOD WEATHER!!!
The artists approach the miracle of the rose in a special way.
They raise awareness of its diversity and translate its real existence into language and music that fills the entire kunstGarten, expand its manifestations sonically, paint scents compositionally and transform its symbolism into a comprehensive sensual event via the performance, which is located in the garden as an acoustic installation.
Born in Innsbruck, Elisabeth Schimana studied Electroacoustic and Experimental Music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Musicology and Ethnology at the University of Vienna and completed a Master’s degree in Computer Music Composition at the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) in Graz. Elisabeth Schimana has been working as a composer/performer/radio artist/curator since 1983, focussing on space/body/electronics. She regularly co-operates with ORF-Kunstradio and researches in the field of women, art and technology. In 2005 she founded the IMA Institute for Media Archaeology and has been its director ever since.
