Mother’s Day Matinée: Albumpräsentation “WHERE TO?”

Zsuzsanna Aba-Nagy (Harfe) & Zsuzsanna Litscher-Nagy (Querflöte)

The concert is connected to the new CD “Wohin?” (“Where to?”) by Zsuzsanna Aba-Nagy. The title itself invites reflection: Where does music lead us, where does the path of life take us, where do sounds and emotions carry us? With harp and flute, a dialogue emerges between two instruments that both represent delicacy, transparency, and lyrical strength—and together they create a musical journey.

The concert program features works by Zsuzsanna Aba-Nagy, as well as other compositions from Hungary, Japan, and Austria. During the event, CD recordings will also be presented, offering insight into the variety and cultural richness of these international artists.

Zsuzsanna Aba-Nagy studied harp at the Zoltán Kodály Conservatory and Music High School in Debrecen. Completed a Master of Arts degree at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, followed by postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, and a diploma in Music Therapy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She attended masterclasses with Anna Lelkes, Ursula Holliger, David Watkins, and Elinor Bennett, among others.
From 1988 to 2005, she was harpist with the orchestra of the City Theatre of St. Pölten. She also performed regularly with the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, and Neue Oper Wien. Her artistic interests include contemporary music and collaboration with composers such as Georg Arny-Aschner, Wolfgang Liebhart, Robert J. Crow, Sigi Finkl, and Guido Mancusi. She is also active as a chamber musician and teaches at various masterclasses.

Mag. Zsuzsanna Litscher-Nagy comes from a musical family—her grandfather was a folk musician and her father a passionate brass player. As the saying goes, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” and music-making was a cherished family tradition from an early age.
She began studying recorder at age seven at a local music school. Her flute teacher, a brilliant flautist, inspired a deep love for the instrument. Participation in various youth orchestras further strengthened this passion.
She studied at the Zoltán Kodály Conservatory and Music High School in Debrecen, and in 1994 began her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, graduating in 1998. She completed her concert performance studies in May 2001 and earned her teaching qualification in June 1999. Further studies followed in Munich and Mainz. Since then, she has been active as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer.
Between 2000 and 2006, she played with the Graz Symphony Orchestra and performed chamber music with the Phönix Wind Quintet and Capella Caliope Graz, as well as in duo performances with piano and organ. She currently teaches flute at the Art and Music School in Gratkorn and at BRG HIB-Liebenau.
