One of the focal points of our art film programme is how people live together and how they deal with conflict situations. Circumstances of hardship that contribute to revolts and war are scrutinised, as are personal and social constraints and sensitivities that individuals have to deal with in their own sphere of life, but also as inhabitants of the world in a threatened natural environment. All of these sensitivities are scrutinised by directors in a light-hearted, serious, ironic, sad, sentimental, instructive, disturbing or uplifting way and aim to contribute to meaningful communication and empathic understanding. Many films are part of the kunstGarten series WOMEN EMPOWERMENT.
