The birthday of Ingeborg Bachmann marks the hundredth anniversary of 2026. The writer is considered one of the most important voices in the German-language literature of the 20th century. Century. With her poetry, her radio plays and prose texts, she gave the literature a concise structure that lacks neither linguistic criticism, existential experience nor political sensitivity. She writes about identity finding, possible memory findings or deceptions, naming truth and its personal imprint. She writes the state of the world with the eyes of a woman of her time. Such an anniversary invites you to rediscover Bachmann: not only by reading, but also by listening and seeing.
One focus of our art film programme is, among other things, the coexistence of people, their confrontation with conflict situations. Circumstances of need that contribute to revolts and war are examined, as well as personal and social constraints and sensitivities that individuals have to deal with in their own lives and as world inhabitants in a threatened natural environment. All of these sensitivities are examined by directors in a cheerful, serious, ironic, sad, sentimental, instructive, disturbing or constructive way and want to contribute to meaningful communication and empathic understanding.
