Codex Manesse: Walther von der Vogelweide
We welcome the approaching winter in the art garden with medieval love poetry, read by Irmi Horn,
sensitively and lively accompanied by three musicians with works by William Byrd, John Baldwin, Laurence Traiger, Oded Geizhals and others. Trio Tenso is a young recorder trio that deals with early music – mainly from the Renaissance and the Baroque – as well as contemporary music. The three members Katrin Felbermair, Leona Lenger and Johanna Unterpertinger have been studying recorder at the Institute 15 for Early Music and Performance Practice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz since 2019, initially with Robert Finster and since the academic year 2021/22 with Lea Sobbe. Their main goal is to show the diversity of the recorder repertoire of the last centuries.
They received further impulses from Tabea Schwartz, Andreas Böhlen, Michael Hell, Lydia Graber, Christine Gnigler and Amy Power, among others. Since the beginning, the three have played together in various formations, the intensive work as a trio began in 2022. They have already performed at various events of the Institut 15, but also at the concert series Summa Sonorum (4×4, summer 2022; Gezwitscher, summer 2023) or at specially organised concerts (musica variopinta in Graz St. Peter, Graz Mariatrost and Ehrenhausen in summer/autumn 2022). They also participated in the church concert “Listening to God’s Symphony” on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Maria Luggau monastery garden in Lesach Valley.
