International Museum Day

Anna Gerlitz-Ottitsch_MONDIAL & Mairosen

As every year, kunstGarten participates in the International Museum Day: 17. May 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The museum is a place of social and cultural exchange.

The cultural connection between history, present and future can be read in societies and their structures.

The sensitivity of a society can be raised by its appreciation of culture, science and art.

Cultural offers can be consumed in the art garden.

The current exhibition and the ARCHIV HORTOPIA can be visited free of charge today from 11:00 – 16:00.

It is the time of rose blossoms. The Hortopia Archive houses numerous works of art indoors and in the garden, including 200 historical and modern roses and a garden library from 5 centuries. There will be a special tour with Irmi and Reinfrid Horn at 16:00: SUB ROSA

Since 1977, the International Museum Day has been proclaimed annually by the International Council of Museums.

The museums present themselves as places of social and cultural exchange and provide special insights into our museum worlds by means of different event formats. As an important means of cultural exchange, they not only assume responsibility for our cultural property, but also promote exchange, tolerance and diversity worldwide. With their innovative educational programs and diverse collections, they are unique places of learning that offer space for social discourses and open up future prospects.
