ART’S BIRTHDAY to celebrate!

The author Dennis Staats presents his new poetry book “kontra.punkt”.

In addition to new poems from the book, he will also read passages from his previous works.

Dennis Staats was born in Carinthia in 1983. He studied comparative literature and English at the University of Vienna, where he wrote his thesis on the reception of Jack Kerouac’s novels in the German-speaking world. After graduating, he worked as a journalist, PR manager and project manager in the marketing department in Vienna, Zurich, Amsterdam and Zagreb. He was co-editor of the literary magazine “The Transnational” in London, which focused on English-German literary translations. Today he lives in Villach and is a member of the literature initiative BUCH13.

Dennis Staats writes and publishes poems, short stories and novels. His texts were awarded, among others, at the zeilen.lauf and at the Kärntner Lyrikpreis. In 2023, he received the Mölltaler Schreibader.
